These were fun to build, it was nice to be able to see the wood grain better with this new stain. I know there are a lot of alder cabinets on this page, but they are very popular, and so is the shaker style. They are also much more affordable compared with other cabinets. Enjoy!

Our last cabinet project was a big one! These cabinets went into a very cool short-term rental GYMNASIUM HOUSE! There is a half-court basketball court in it! These cabinet were a fun build, there was a wine glass holder that was cool to install. Many cabinets for this job, A full kitchen and island, a full upstairs wet bar, three vanities and even a couple cabinets that house some massive subwoofers. I feel very lucky to have been involved with the build on this incredible building. It's for sure a one of a kind build. Hats off to the electrician for making the cabinets pop with that cabinet lighting.
The newest set of cabinets, ready to go for the next job. This is the biggest job to date. Three vanities, two kitchens, and a huge peninsula.

Another set of cabinets in the books. Stained Knotty Alder has to be one of my favorite finishes. These were fun to build. Couldn't have done it without the help of my friend Erik with Westin Property Development. He is a crucial part to all of the cabinets you see and is a master with the lacquer. Blum soft-close hardware, maple dovetail drawers. The moulding is a double stack of alder, tricky to install, but very rewarding. Thank you all for following.

Fact; I make more cabinets than instagram posts unfortunately. I have been a busy man as of late. Here are the finished cabinets from the latest install. They are hard maple with colorized lacquer. Everything has blum soft-close hardware. Granite install makes them really pop. The glass cabinets look sharp imo. They also have solid wood shelves instead of plywood. Glad to stick a pin in this one.

Newest set of cabinets are coming together. These are hard maple with colorized lacquer. The were very challenging to install but I definitely learned a lot. The glass doors really adds a nice touch. Stay tuned for final picture with after appliances and granite are installed.

I'm excited to see how these cabinets turn out. Color is almost a repose grey colorized lacquer. Color is Kendall Charcoal. Stay tuned for something new. We tried some glass door cabinets to spice up the look of the kitchen. Thank you all for your follows btw. Ok back to work.
It is a rewarding thing to be part of the construction of a home. It takes many people. Why construction can be thought of as it's own art, well it starts with a very simple drawing, and ends up to be something you can give your great grandchildren. That means whomever is working on it, needs to be able to envision a finished house. all trades are constantly considering what their nexts steps are, as well as what it will make the house look like. That's where a little art helps, that's where I can help. I made this 3D model about a year ago. It really helps people envision what things will look like and is a major asset with design elements, from cabinets to wall colors. You see even though I make cabinets, I make art show up as well.
Here are the finished pictures from the post earlier. Cabinets are knotty alder with a muck brown stain, finished in a satin lacquer. I use only 6 inch pulls, it adds simplicity to an already (and intentionally) simple door design. Afterall it is a shaker design and simplicity can be beautiful in the right proportions and quantities. All hardware is the best they make (in my opinion, from austria) Blum tandemotion soft close drawer slides. Blum soft close hinges for the doors.
Drawers are finger-jointed birch with dovetail joints in the corners. Kitchen Island has a heavy duty (175lb rating) double trash drawer. The backs of the island and peninsula are end-matched tongue and groove pine.

If any person cares to become a better woodworker either professionally or hobbyist, I cannot recommend enough, building at least one cabinet. It will teach you so so much. Cabinets aren't particularly difficult, I know of far more technical woodworking projects. Cabinets seem scary but they're just boxes. If you have any questions I'm more than happy to share. These are the behind the scenes pics from my lasy post. Enjoy your day fellow humans.
We all begin somewhere. and this is where I began. These cabinets were constructed with 3/4 industrial melamine carcasses (carcass = fancy cabinet speak for the main box of a cabinet) Melamine is a very stable and strong material in my opinion. Pocket hole joinery on carcass an face frames. Faceframes were made from silver maple as well the rails and stiles of the 5 piece shaker doors with MDF panels. Satin nickel pulls. blum tandemotion soft close drawer slides and hinges. 1/2" baltic birch drawer boxes. Cabinets include custom built-ins for fireplace and a double vanity as well as well laundry room vanity. A matching foyer bench was made from silver maple as well as finger-jointed birch butcher block for a benchtop with a walnut stain. In addition to this being my first gig, it is also my biggest job to date. I learned an immense amount of information and knowledge from this job. Sometimes you get so thirsty you just drink from a fire hydrant so to speak. If you have read this far, thank you. #cabinets
One of our most recent cabinet jobs for a good friend I work with. next post I will show you the finished cabinets. These are knotty alder with a muck brown stain. Finished with precatalyzed lacquer... more to follow.
